Rental Prices Remain Steady

According to the latest data from the National Statistics Institute, the average price of renting a home in Spain remained steady in March, compared with the same month in the previous year.
The Institute’s figures show that, month-on-month the cost of renting a property remained unchanged, although so far this year prices have fallen by 0.1% on average.

Year-on-year, 10 regions lowered their average rentals rates in March, with prices decreasing most in Navarra (-2.1%) and Murcia (-1.8%). Following on were Madrid (-1.1%), La Rioja (-0.7%), Valencia (-0.5%), Aragon (-0.3%), Andalucía (-0.2%), the Canary Islands (-0.1%), Castilla-La Mancha (0.1%) and Extremadura (0.0%).

Meanwhile, El Mundo reported that rental prices rose in Galicia (+1.3%), Catalonia (+0.9%), Cantabria (+0.8%), the Basque Country (+0.8%), Castilla y León (+0.8%), Asturias (+0.5%), and the Balearic Islands (0.4%).
