Russian Property Workshop
packed Bangkok Seminar Suite

In order to encourage Asian companies to attract Russian investors, the aiGroup, Russia’s leading property marking group held their first Russian Property Workshop at the new aloft hotel in Bangkok on January 17th 2012.

Thailand top realtors and developers including Savills Thailand, Fragrant Property, CBRE Thailand, Pace Developments, Colliers International and Absolute World attended along with members of the media.

Kim Waddoup the CEO of the aiGroup and Editor in Chief of Russia’s leading Overseas Property magazine International Residence gave a presentation covering the political and financial scene in Russia and gave details of where Russians were buying abroad and how much they were likely to spend on a property.

He then explained how overseas developers and realtors should prepare their marketing strategy before entering into the Russian market.

Kim Waddoup explained. ‘With all the billions of Rubles being used by Russians to buy real estate overseas, it is not surprising that many foreign property companies are attracted to Russia. However we see time and time again companies with ill informed and non speaking Russian staff with often badly prepared non Russian literature trying to persuade investors to part with their funds. It just does not work and are important visitors then leave disappointed.’

‘We now spend a significant amount of time and money educating overseas companies on how to professionally enter the Russian market. With our exhibitions, magazine and online property portal we are in a very strong position to be able to offer companies a comprehensive marketing campaign over a 12 month period. We always recommend that to attract serious Russian investors, it is essential to create brand awareness by advertising first, before taking your product to a major exhibition, ‘said Waddoup.

The success of the first workshop in Thailand has prompt the group to consider running similar workshops in other Asian cities over the next few months.
